元先の幅差開いて反り深く、杢目鍛えの地鉄は鎬地柾がかり、刃文は互ノ目乱れで乱れを繋ぐかの如く砂流や金筋が顕著にかかり、鋩子は直ぐ調にやや乱れごころを交えて先丸く返る。特筆すべき鍛錬疵はありませんが、刃こぼれがあります。現状のまま、まずは日本刀がどのようなものなのか、また、手入れ作法を学んで頂き、先で研磨を施して、次は研ぎ澄まされた地刃の冴えをお楽しみ頂きつつ、保存刀剣鑑定を受審頂きご所持頂ければと思います。

柄の長さは30.5センチと長く、茶色の鹿革で強固に巻かれています。
